Piano Club Parent Page

Important Things to Know:

Piano Marvel

A semester-long subscription to Piano Marvel is included in the cost of the club this fall. We will be using this program for music and to monitor our growth.  Piano Marvel is a great aide to make the practice time productive and fun.

This piano club is a unique way to encourage the single most valuable habit that kids can develop - practice. We are using the power of friendship and a little healthy competition to spur them to visit the music every day.

To use either most effectively, you'll need some kind of electronic keyboard, a usb cord, and an ios or android device or computer. Piano Marvel doesn't work well with phones, but works very well with either mac or pc and ios devices like ipads.

Please watch the promo.

Here are two good links for information about appropriate keyboards for young music learners.

I suggest a digital piano (less bells and whistles, better sounding piano sample) with midi, an audio input, and at least 61 velocity sensitive keys. You will find them at all ranges and prices. The Casio CT S1 is a great place to start, and it's available at Guitar Center a mile away.

I have 1 very nice keyboard for sale.

Follow this link to see the brand and model.

I will charge $400 for the keyboard and the bench

Keyboard/Equipment Suggestions

This video by Below I have linked several keyboards that are great options to get. The features that are important are:

The keyboard I have guided many of my students to is the Yamaha P-125. (however, the P-125a has had a couple key features removed and is therefore not the same keyboard. Guitar Center is where I go to check out keyboards. I suggest you check it out first.)
